Antique Fire Hose Nozzle with Red Canvas Grip
An impressive antique firefighter's brass fire hose nozzle, also known as a playpipe, featuring a substantial 30-inch elongated body and original-style red woven canvas grip. This traditional firefighting tool was designed to direct a concentrated stream of water during fire suppression operations. Its tapered metal nozzle, cylindrical construction, and distinctive industrial design reflect early-to-mid 20th-century firefighting equipment.
The nozzle features a dark, naturally aged metal finish with areas of exposed brass-colored metal and green oxidation, adding authentic character. A pair of opposing triangular metal handles at the base provided firefighters with a secure two-handed grip when controlling water pressure. The faded burgundy-red fabric covering shows considerable wear, including a visible tear with frayed threads near the lower section. An excellent decorative piece for collectors of antique firefighting equipment, industrial memorabilia, or vintage firehouse accessories.
