Franklin Porcelain H.M.S. Pinafore Centennial Music Box

A collectible Franklin Porcelain H.M.S. Pinafore Centennial Music Box, created in 1978 to commemorate the centennial of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera H.M.S. Pinafore. The round powder-blue box is decorated with raised white relief scenes of elegantly dressed figures in period costume, with a coordinating figural scene on the lid.

Inside is a traditional mechanical music-box movement marked Reuge, Sainte-Croix, Made in Switzerland. The underside is marked “D’Oyly Carte Opera Company – The H.M.S. Pinafore Centennial Music Box – Created by Franklin Porcelain – © FP 1978,” making this an identifiable late-1970s collectible.

Shipping Charges
